The Original “Tale”

FIns and Tales opened its doors officially in 2008 but ask anyone that knows the Desforges and this restaurant was a lifetime in the making.

Located in the historic Delahanty Building on Main Street in Southbridge, Debbie Desforges fell in love with the old mill building years prior to the restaurants opening. Restoring the space was a family affair + was the home to Debbie’s business, Frangelique.

Peter grew up in the restaurant industry, he will tell you this is all he knows, as if its a small accomplishment, allow me to tell you, its not. His uncles and mother opened Roms Restaurant in the 50s and spearheaded its success for decades.

As Rom’s over 50 years came to a close, it was time for Peter to take everything he learned from his Uncle, Mother, Cousins and years at Roms and make it his own. Peter knew he wanted to incorporate his Italian heritage, love for seafood and his fathers knack for story telling – thus “Fins and Tales” (like the story kinda Tales).

Today, Fins and Tales is a family own and operated restaurant, just like Roms was back in the day.

The menu offers the best in seafood, steaks and pasta, plus plenty of options for everyone. Fins and Tales is serious about good food, and that is no tall Tale.
